REGENERATION OF ST DAY'S
OLD CHURCH
The Day-Light Group are delighted to be supporting the regeneration of St Day's historic 'Old Church' - a building that has undergone huge changes since its construction nearly 200 years ago.
After it fell into disrepair in the 1950s, a group of dedicated volunteers launched the St Day Old Church Appeal in 1988, and in 2018 it was sold to the St Day Old Church Community Interest Company (CIC) by the Diocese for £1.
Now, work is beginning to transform this iconic building into a community and arts space, and preserve the church and its grounds for years to come.

You can keep up with the regeneration on the St Day Old Church Facebook Page and at www.stdayoldchurch.org

HOW ARE WE INVOLVED?

We will be celebrating this monumental restoration with an exciting programme of creative activities and events.

This was kick-started by a three day festival centred around the Old Church, featuring an immersive laser experience, projections, light installations, live music, dance, lanterns, song and food.

Signs and Wonders: DiaspAURA built on the success of
Signs and Wonders 2017 - a spectacular Festival of Lights that celebrated four iconic Cornish locations.

We are extremely grateful to Arts Council England and the Heritage Lottery Fund for supporting this community work, which was an important factor in fundraising for the practical side of the restoration.
