A site-specific celebration of creativity, community and heritage,
to accompany the restoration of St Day's Old Church.
This exciting programme of creative activities and events kicks off with three-nights of celebrations:
DiaspAURA - the name comes from 'diaspora', meaning "the movement, migration, or scattering of a people away from an established or ancestral homeland".
The project celebrates the Old Church's connection with the world-wide Cornish diaspora, and we'll be creating an 'aura' through the dazzing light festival!
A dazzling festival of light at the Old Church featuring lasers, lanterns, large-scale projections, illuminated artwork, live music, local food and more!
Friday 21st and Sunday 23rd - all events FREE and unticketed.
Saturday 22nd - TICKETS - Book here!
£8 (adult) £2 (child) £18 (family)
Inside the Old Church - a ticketed live music event featuring Symply Symons, Three Daft Monkeys and Hanterhir.
Outside the Old Church will remain FREE.
The Day-Light Group
The Day-Light Group was founded by Clare Summerson and Kim Pilgrim in 2010 and we are now a well established open membership community arts group. Well known in St Day and the surrounding area for lantern processions, projected animations and celebratory events.
The Day-Light Group empowers rural communities to bring their heritage to life, using installations, illuminations, and celebrations. Our vibrant, unique and innovative events build on local talents and traditions, and introduce new digital and creative skills to those involved.
