Shining a light on Cornish ingenuity across the globe.

We are celebrating the regeneration of St Day's Old Church with

9 months of community workshops and activities that include a ‘Big Sing’, a permanent mosaic, banner making, walks, talks, performances and events.

All the activities and events are open to all ages and abilities and the majority of them are free. Our aim is to support Old Church CIC in highlighting the enormous potential of this building as an asset and venue for community events, arts activities including performances, film shoots, festivals and outdoor learning.

This will be our second Signs and Wonders Light Spectacular - you can find out more about the previous series of events here.

We will be working with the community to create animations inspired by Cornish diaspora and the heritage and environment of the Old Church, which will be projected onto the front of the building!

GreenWave Laser will create immersive and interactive laser light projections inside the roofless building. An installation of voices will narrate the history of the church and share memories about the building.

In and around the Old Church you will find beautiful light installations responding to the Old Church.

We welcome the return of the ‘Spirit of Light’ - our illuminated dancer and drummer who will lead a community lantern parade and a Serpent Dance.

There will be fantastic live music from local musicians and choirs, including the Day-Light Choir who will be singing songs inspired by the ‘Cousin Jacks’.

Children at St Day School will be devising and creating shadow puppet shows inspired by the Old Church's rich cultural history.

A UV light painting workshop will give you the chance to create stunning glowing artwork!

There will be a range of local food and drink available to enjoy.
